CODY, Wyo. - The Bureau of Land Management invites you to a community workday this Saturday, July 27, at the Andy Martin Hill River Access along the South Fork of the Shoshone River southwest of Cody. The workday supports the BLM’s commitment to enhance public access and recreational opportunities on public land.
Volunteers and BLM staff will work to remove old wooden posts, barbed wire fences and t-posts for public safety, and install a new entrance sign, information kiosk and two picnic tables.
“The Andy Martin Hill River Access has historically received little use due to limited accessibility," said Rick Tryder, BLM outdoor recreation planner in the Cody Field Office. “The work we do there will improve the public’s recreational experiences, including time spent fishing and hunting, and also give us a chance to get to know each other."
Meet at 8 a.m. at the BLM Cody Field Office to caravan to the recreation site. Please wear durable work shoes and appropriate clothing for the weather, and bring work gloves, sunscreen, lunch and water. This is bear country, so bring bear spray if you have it. Hand tools will be provided.
