Butte BLM to repair rough road leading to Ringing Rocks geologic sit

The following press releases was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management on Oct. 1, 2019. It is reproduced in full below.

(BUTTE, Mont.) - The Bureau of Land Management will begin repairs of the Ringing Rocks Road near Pipestone beginning Oct. 7.

The road will be closed intermittently until the project is finished, tentatively scheduled for Oct. 21.

The project is designed to fix an ongoing problem: the road becomes impassable to lower-clearance vehicles annually due to heavy use and storm run-off. The storms this summer have created an especially difficult spot for traffic, say local officials.

“We're trying to get the necessary upgrade to the road completed as quickly as we can to minimize disruption to the public," said Casey Trang, BLM Western Montana District Administrative Officer.
