Coeur d’Alene, Idaho - BLM’s Huckleberry Campground is set to open on May 9, marking the beginning of the summer camping season in northern Idaho. The popular campground requires reservations for camp dates beginning May 15 through Sept.13, for most campsites. Reservations can be made through http://www.recreation.gov, or by calling the national reservation hotline at 1-877-444-6777.

Four individual camp sites remain available on a first-come, first-served basis throughout the required reservation time period. Campers do not need reservations outside of the May 15 to Sept. 13 dates; however, in fall 2020, the campground will be closed from Sept. 14 through Oct. 31 to complete renovations.

Visitors to the Huckleberry campground are asked to follow the “Recreate Responsibly Idaho" guidelines during their visit to the site. Campers are encouraged to bring their own sanitation supplies such as hand sanitizer, cleaning wipes and toiletries. More details about the Recreate Responsibly campaign can be found at: https://gov.idaho.gov/pressrelease/recreate-responsibly-idaho-campaign-aims-to-make-outdoor-recreation-safe-from-coronavirus-spread/
