Winnemucca, Nev. - Two virtual public meetings will be held for the Thacker Pass Draft Environmental Impact Statement project on August 19 at 1:00 pm and August 20 at 6:30 pm (PDT) via the Zoom Webinar platform. These online meetings will provide an overview of the proposed project, the organization of the Thacker Pass DEIS document, and information on how members of the public can submit formal comments to the BLM.
Information on registering for the meetings can be found at https://eplanning.blm.gov/eplanning-ui/project/1503166/530. No formal comments will be accepted during the online meetings.
“The public’s input on these projects is invaluable during the development of an EIS," said Winnemucca District Manager Ester McCullough. “It truly helps us make sure we have addressed everything we need to consider for a project like this."
The 45-day comment period on the draft DEIS ends Sept. 14, 2020. The draft DEIS, maps and other planning documents associated with the project can be viewed on our ePlanning website at https://eplanning.blm.gov/eplanning-ui/project/1503166/510.
Comments on the DEIS may be submitted in the following ways:
* on-line via the ePlanning website (see the Participate Now tab);
* by email at blm_nv_wdo_thacker_pass@blm.gov with “Thacker Pass EIS (Loda)" in the subject line;
* or by mail to Mr. Ken Loda, Project Lead, 5100 East Winnemucca Blvd, Winnemucca, NV 89445.
Before including an address, phone number, email address, or other personally identifiable information in any comments, be aware that the entire comment-including personal identifying information-may be made publicly available at any time. Requests to withhold personal identifying information from public review can be submitted, but the BLM cannot guarantee that it will be able to do so.
