WINNEMUCCA, Nev. - The Humboldt River Field Office seeks public comment on an Environmental Assessment for a proposed direct land sale of approximately 1,954 acres to C-Punch Ranch located in Granite Springs Valley in Pershing County. The parcels represent in-holdings surrounded by land owned by C Punch Ranch, Inc.
“The proposed conveyance, if approved, would reduce land management complexities in Granite Springs Valley," said Winnemucca District Manager, Ester McCullough.
If the sale is approved, the ranch would use the purchased land to consolidate private land holdings in the area of an existing hay ranch and to continue existing land uses including cattle grazing. The Federal government would retain the rights to any subsurface minerals.
The public lands proposed for sale, located at, T. 26 N, R. 27 E, sections 2, 10 and 14, are listed in the Resource Management Plan for the Winnemucca District Planning Area as suitable for conveyance.
Documents associated with the environmental assessment can be found on the ePlanning website at the following link https://eplanning.blm.gov/eplanning-ui/project/2000085/510.
