The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) announces that it will temporarily close the San Pedro area in Santa Fe County from April 20 through May 2, 2021, for site cleanup.
The area is managed by the BLM Taos Field Office, which is authorizing the contractor, Northwind, special use access to clean trash, clear illegally dumped items, test soils, and clean lead-contaminated soils. To protect the public and contractor-employees, and as authorized in Section 302(b) of the Federal Land Policy and Management Act, the BLM is regulating the use and occupancy by closing the public lands during the operation. An alternate for recreational shooting is available on public lands within the Camel Tracks area.
For more information about the temporary closure, please contact Justin Dean at 575-751-4734.
