ELY, Nev. - Starting 6 p.m. on July 31, the Coyotes Motorcycle Club is scheduled to conduct a timed competition on public lands about eight miles west of Ely, Nev. Approximately 50-70 participants and up to 150 spectators are expected. The event will end at 1 a.m. on August 1.
Riders will stage at the Egan Crest trailhead alongside U.S. Highway 50. Races will occur in the following classes, peewee, mini bikes, and big bikes. Riders will depart the start line at one-minute intervals.
It is expected that residents of Ruth and Cross Timbers will occasionally hear motorcycles in the distance. The Bureau of Land Management Ely District, Bristlecone Field Office, which permitted the event, will monitor noise levels throughout the competition.
