The following press releases was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management on July 21, 2021. It is reproduced in full below.

CRAIG, Colo. - Northwest Colorado has seen exceptionally dry conditions due to the prolonged drought, and land managers in Moffat, Routt, Rio Blanco, Jackson, Eagle, Summit, and Grand counties are in either a stage I or stage II fire restriction.

Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Colorado, Northwest District Fire and Aviation coordinates a weekly fire coordination meeting to discuss and clarify local fire restrictions and discuss fuel management thresholds.

“The weekly meeting is an extremely important discussion between stakeholders to ensure we are all on the same page," said Northwest District Fire and Aviation Fire Management Specialist Brandon Voegtle.

Currently, Rio Blanco County, Jackson County, the BLM’s White River Field office, and the Medicine Bow Routt National Forest are in Stage I fire restrictions.

The BLM’s Kremmling Field Office is in Stage I fire restrictions in Jackson, Eagle, and Summit Counties, and Stage II in Grand County.

The BLM’s Little Snake Field Office, Moffat County, Grand County, Dinosaur National Monument, and Routt County are all in Stage II fire restrictions.
