The following press releases was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management on Oct. 13, 2021. It is reproduced in full below.

(BUTTE, Mont.) - The Bureau of Land Management has removed its previous fire restrictions for BLM-administered lands within the boundaries of the Woods Creek Fire near Townsend.

The Recission of Closure for Woods Creek Wildfire Operations order was signed by field managers from both the BLM’s Butte and Lewistown field offices today and takes effect immediately.

The order rescinds the small-scale closure previously invoked due to this summer’s Woods Creek Fire which grew to more than 55,000 acres in the Big Belt Mountains after being reported in early July.
