The Bureau of Land Management Mount Lewis Field Office is seeking comment on a proposed non-competitive direct sale to Lander County of the United States’ reversionary interest in 172.51 acres of land in Lander County, Nevada, for which the County holds a patent under the Recreation and Public Purposes (R&PP) Act. Lander County has applied to the BLM for a direct sale of the reversionary interest in its R&PP Act patent.
The Federal Register notice announcing the action was published April 29 and the public comment period ends June 13, 2022.
The purpose of the non-competitive direct sale of the reversionary interest in the R&PP Act patent is to provide for the orderly disposition of the United States’ reversionary interest at not less than the fair market value. The sale would dispose of the reversionary interest that imposes certain restrictions and conditions on use of the land.
This non-competitive direct sale would be consistent with the BLM Battle Mountain Resource Management Plan and the Record of Decision approved in February 1986. The BLM has the authority to sell and release the reversionary interest under Sections 202 and 203 of the Federal Land Policy and Management Act.
Written comments can be submitted online at the NEPA Register site; mailed to the BLM Mount Lewis Field Office at 50 Bastian Rd.; Battle Mountain, NV 89820; or emailed to cmault@blm.gov. Please put “Lander County Land Direct Sale" in the subject line.
