LAS VEGAS --The Las Vegas Field Office sold 376.465 acres in 32 parcels for $138,575,000 during a modified competitive online public land sale that began on May 3 and was open for bids for 24 hours. The agency offered 35 parcels of public land, totaling 400.815 acres under the Southern Nevada Public Land Management Act (SNPLMA). Parcels offered for sale varied in size from 2.03 to 50.84 acres and were located throughout the Las Vegas Valley. The parcels offered for sale were nominated by local governments, often after interested parties express interest in purchasing them.
"Las Vegas Field Office is proud to support land sales within the congressionally-designated the SNPLMA disposal boundary," said Shonna Dooman, Las Vegas Field Office Manager. “To date, more than 1,500 projects have been funded under the SNPLMA using funds generated from these sales to enhance a myriad of recreation opportunities, improve access, promote species and habitat conservation, protect environmentally sensitive land, restore landscapes and reduce the threat to communities from wildland fire."

Successful bidders are required to pay 20 percent of the bid by 4 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time on May 5, 2022. The remainder of the bid is due within 180 days on/before Oct. 31, 2022.
In accordance with the joint selection process, unsold parcels must be re-nominated for consideration at future land sales by the local government.
In accordance with the SNPLMA, funds generated from the sale of public land may be used for specific purposes including parks, trails, and natural areas; capital improvements, conservation initiatives; and for the purchase of environmentally sensitive lands. Additionally, 10 percent of the funds will go to the Southern Nevada Water Authority, and five percent will go to the Nevada State General Education Fund.
