Deputy Secretary of State Wendy R. Sherman met yesterday with Samoan Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mataʻafa at the Pacific Island Conference of Leaders in Honolulu, Hawaii. The Deputy Secretary and the Prime Minister discussed U.S.-Samoa cooperation and the Deputy Secretary’s recent trip to the region in August, where the two first met. They also highlighted the importance of strengthening ties and support for the Pacific Islands Forum.
