Pea Ridge National Military Park to present special program “U.S Grant: A Story of Failure, Obstacles Overcome and Dogged Determination”
On Saturday, October 1, park guide Mr. Kerry Jones will present a special program on Civil War general and US President, Ulysses S. Grant. This one-and-a-half-hour program will examine the successes and failures during Grant’s life from the battlefield to the White House and will highlight Grant’s intervention in the Brooks-Baxter War in Arkansas in 1874. The event will take place in the park visitor center auditorium Saturday, October 1 at 10am. This program is part of a Fall/Winter lecture series the park will hold for the remainder of the calendar year.

Pea Ridge National Military Park preserves and commemorates the March 7-8, 1862, battle that helped Union forces maintain physical and political control of the state of Missouri.
