Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $1.7 million grant to the city of McCall, Idaho, for transportation infrastructure improvements to support increased business accessibility and growth.
This project will facilitate reconstruction of McCall’s failing 1st Street roadway, install adjacent sidewalks and streetlights, and develop a 55-space public parking lot in the city’s downtown core. The EDA investment will be matched with $534,898 in state and local funds, and is expected to retain 300 jobs, according to grantee estimates.
“President Biden is committed to ensuring that our communities are provided with the resources they need to strengthen and grow their economies,” said Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo. “This EDA investment will improve access to businesses in McCall, creating jobs and providing economic resilience.”
