The most recent press release, "Yosemite Declares Fire Season," was submitted on June 30.
The U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service published 284 press releases the month before, marking a 4.2 percent increase for the current month.
The National Park Service cares for the more than 400 national parks in the US. It works with local communities to help with historic preservation as well as the establishment and upkeep of recreational places.
The Great American Outdoors Act was enacted to increase recreational options and address long-overdue infrastructure and modernization issues in the National Park System.
