Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller Mansion Open for Tours 2005

The 19th century Victorian Mansion and Carriage Barn Visitor Center open for the season on Saturday, May 28, 2005. Ranger-led tours of the Mansion and gardens will be available daily, on the hour, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm through Oct. 31, 2005. The Victorian interior includes furnishings, decorative arts, and belongings from both the Billings and Rockefeller families. Oil paintings by artists from the Hudson River School that influenced the American conservation movement are on display. Art work includes pieces by Albert Bierstadt, Thomas Cole, John Frederick Kensett, and others.
