Petrified Forest, AZ - Park Superintendent Lee Baiza announced the visitation for May was up by 2.3% over last year with 55,245 visits compared to last year’s 53,996. The year-to-date total is 193,088 which is up by 1.7% from last year.
Visitors wishing to learn more about the park can attend ranger led programs. The times and locations of the programs are posted at the Painted Desert Visitor Center, Painted Desert Inn Museum, and the Rainbow Forest Museum.
