Due to lowering water levels on Lake Mead, the Callville Bay launch ramp currently ends at the water. NPS maintenance personnel will be installing a sign this evening that states, “Launch Ramp Ends - Launch at Your Own Risk." Tomorrow, the National Park Service and Callville Bay Marina personnel will be installing river rock at the south end of the ramp to allow for at least one shallow launch lane. Additionally, concrete slabs will be installed on the north end of the ramp as soon as possible.
When the rock and concrete are installed, a new update will be sent.
Alternative launch ramps to use in the interim include Echo Bay (north of Callville Bay at Northshore mile marker 36) and Lake Mead Marina (south of Callville Bay at Lakeshore mile marker 3).
The National Park Service and Callville Bay Resort are committed to keeping a working launch ramp at Callville Bay. Updates on the status of the Callville Bay launch ramp will be sent out regularly as improvements are made.
