Flagstaff, Arizona - Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument officials announce that a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the proposed fire facility was signed by the Intermountain Regional Director of the National Park Service. The finding was made after reviewing public comments on the Environmental Assessment/Assessment of Effect released in June.
The fire facility would house and protect two existing NPS wildland fire engines, and improve NPS response capabilities to wildland fire.
