7On Wednesday, Sept. 27, NPS maintenance personnel will move the fishing pier that was temporarily relocated to Horsepower Cove in the Hemenway Harbor area of Lake Mead, to its permanent location just north of the Hemenway Harbor Launch Ramp and south of the Personal Watercraft Beach. You can access the fishing pier in its permanent location by driving down the Hemenway Harbor access road. At the top of the launch ramp, turn left onto the dirt Boulder Beach access road. The location of the fishing pier will be marked with a sign.
This permanent location for the fishing pier was identified in the Lake Management Plan and the Low Water Amendment to the General Management Plan for Lake Mead National Recreation Area.
The Nevada Department of Wildlife will begin stocking fish in the permanent location.
