Remains of A Rainbow, a traveling photo exhibit of the rare and endangered plants and animals of Hawai`i has returned to Maui this fall. Haleakala National Park is proud to host a portion of the exhibit in its Park Headquarters Visitor Center. This Nature Conservancy of Hawaii sponsored exhibit is on display at the park through the new year from 7:30am to 4pm daily.
This stunning collection of portraits from acclaimed wildlife photographers David Liittschwager and Susan Middleton documents the rich but imperiled tapestry of life that is native to the Hawaiian Islands. More than 40 of their portraits from there book, Remains of a Rainbow; Rare Plants and Animals of Hawai`i, make up this exhibit. The photos also celebrate a long-standing relationship between The Nature Conservancy and Haleakala National Park.
Aloha Airlines has generously provided inter-island transportation for the exhibit, allowing the Conservancy to bring the exhibit to local communities throughout the state since 2002.
