Horse Concession Operation Sold

WEST GLACIER, MONT. - National Park Service (NPS) officials announce the sale of the horseback riding and animal packing concession operation in Glacier National Park by Mule Shoe Outfitters to Swan Mountain Outfitters - Glacier Division, LLC. With this sale, Swan Mountain Outfitters will take over operation of the concession contract for horse services in Glacier, which was awarded to Mule Shoe Outfitters in the fall of 2006. This 10-year concession contract will expire Dec. 31, 2016. The terms of the contract and the services offered, including the reopening of the Apgar Horse Barn, are unaffected by the sale.

Swan Mountain Outfitters is owned by Pat Tabor of Swan Lake, Montana. They currently operate a guest ranch, packing and horse operation in the Swan Lake area. For more information on Swan Mountain Outfitter Services, contact Swan Mountain Outfitters at (406) 886-3900.

Mule Shoe Outfitters (owned and operated by Paul and Ginny DeToni of Wickenberg, AZ) had provided horseback riding and animal packing services in Glacier National Park since 1994.
