Summer Programs Begin Memorial Day Weekend

Summer ranger programs at Fort Frederica National Monument will begin Memorial Day weekend. Programs will begin Saturday, May 26, 2007 and continue every day through Monday, Sept. 3, 2007. Programs are offered two times daily at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Among the programs you may experience are “hands on" musket drills, a “Pub Crawl" of the taverns of Frederica and tours of Frederica town.

Visitors can also join a British soldier at Bloody Marsh, once a month and learn about the musket as well as British forces battling the Spanish at the Battle of Bloody Marsh. Please meet the soldier at the Bloody Marsh Battle Site located off of Demere Road. The next scheduled Bloody Marsh program is Saturday, May 26, with additional programs June 23, July 21, Aug. 25, Sept. 22, Oct. 27, and November 18. All programs begin at 2 p.m.
