Highway 87 Reopens for Traffic

WIND CAVE NATIONAL PARK, S.D. - Construction crews have completed a major renovation of the Pigtail Bridge, and Highway 87 has reopened for traffic in Wind Cave National Park. The highway closed for five weeks this spring while the bridge was strengthened and the guardrails replaced. Work on the project has now shifted to repaving Highway 87 within the park, and motorist can expect up to 30-minute delays while traveling the road through the end of July. The work is part of a Federal Highways project designed to upgrade Highway 87.
