WEST GLACIER, MONT. - Officials from Glacier National Park and the Glacier Natural History Association (GNHA) are pleased to announce the winners of this year’s postcard contest:
1st - 2nd grade category
1st place: Milana Milisavljevich, Deer Park Elementary
2nd place: Talon Frost, Russell School
3rd place: Sequoia Wilber, Eureka Elementary
Honorable Mention: Emily Pederson, Russell School
3rd - 5th grade category
1st place: Eileen Crusta, Home School
2nd place: Emma Nixon, Muldown Elementary School
3rd place: Caleb Milisavljevich, Deer Park Elementary
Honorable Mention: Nathan Jones, Jones Christian School
6th - 8th grade category
1st place: Elaine Fraticelli, Alice Martin Art Class
2nd place: Jerry Ranel, St. Ignatius Middle School
3rd place: Jenna LePoge, Castle Rock Middle School
Honorable Mention: McKenna Cowan-Barnes, Columbia Falls Junior High
Honorable Mention: Mitchell Rose Bear Don’t Walk, St. Ignatius Middle School
Judging was extremely difficult due to the quality of the entries, and judges added “Honorable Mention" recognition. The winning artwork in each category will be showcased on postcards which will be given to the visiting public at GNHA bookstores in Glacier National Park next summer.
Glacier National Park and GNHA employees express their appreciation to each student who took the time to show what Glacier means to them. Next year’s contest is expected to be announced in October 2008.
