NPS Annual Threatened and Endangered Species Reports Available to Public

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on Feb. 12, 2008. It is reproduced in full below.

Superintendent Mike Murray announced today that the Cape Hatteras National Seashore (CAHA) 2007 Annual Reports for Threatened and Endangered Species have been released and are available to the public. As required in the August 2006 Biological Opinion on the CAHA Interim Protected Species Management Strategy, Seashore staff has completed and submitted these reports to the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service Raleigh Field Office by Jan. 31, 2007.

The following reports have been released; 2007 Seabeach Amaranth Report, 2007 Piping Plover Report and 2007 Sea Turtle Report. For more information, these reports and associated appendices can be found on the CAHA website.
