Harry S Truman Farm Home Summer Schedule

The summer season at the Harry S Truman Farm Home in Grandview starts this year with the annual Harry’s Hay Days celebration. The Farm Home will be open to the public on Saturday, May 17. Ranger-led tours will be offered every 30 minutes from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Group size is limited to six people; tours are free on that day.

The Farm Home will be open for the summer season on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from Friday, May 23 through Sunday, August 31. Admission is by guided tour only and each tour is limited to 6 people. Thirty minute tours will begin at 9:30 a.m. and the last tour of the day will be at 4:00 p.m. Tickets are offered on a first-come, first-served basis and may sell out by early afternoon. They may be purchased on the day of the tour at the Farm Home or at the Harry S Truman Visitor Center at 223 N. Main Street in Independence. The cost is $4.00 for adults; children 15 and under are free.

The mission of Harry S Truman National Historic Site is to interpret the broad life experience of President Truman encompassed in the National Park Service resources in Independence and Grandview and to preserve those resources which tell his life story. The park seeks to educate present and future generations about Truman, his role as a citizen and his influence on history.
