Founding Brothers: The Revolutionary Generation, a History Channel video series, will be presented at Charles Pinckney National Historic Site. Each Saturday in June a different volume in the four part series will be shown. Based on the Pulitzer Prize winning book by historian Joseph Ellis, this series brings to life the vital issues and personalities from the most important decade in our country’s history.

Volume I examines George Washington’s term as America’s first president when political crises threatened to dissolve the fragile young union.

Saturday, June 14, 2:00 PM

Volume II shows how the ideological conflict between Jefferson and Hamilton played out in the nation’s policies and spilled over into the press.

Saturday, June 21, 2:00 PM

Volume III deals with America’s first truly contested presidential election in 1796 when John Adams’ victory ended his long friendship with Thomas Jefferson.

Saturday, June 28, 2:00 PM

Volume IV covers Thomas Jefferson’s presidency, the infamous Hamilton-Burr duel, and the poignant reconciliation between Adams and Jefferson.

Charles Pinckney National Historic Site preserves a 28-acre remnant of Snee Farm, the lowcountry plantation of Charles Pinckney, a founding father and framer of the United States Constitution. Located at 1254 Long Point Road in Mount Pleasant, the park is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. except for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Days.
