National Park Service Engine Reports Small Fire at Lake Mead Marina Complex (Part of Las Vegas Boat Harbor Marina) 23-08

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on May 22, 2008. It is reproduced in full below.

The fire was isolated on a part of the Spyglass portion of the B-Dock. Boats in slips 78, 79, and 80 were completely destroyed by the fire. Additionally, two other boats on that finger of the dock were damaged (slip numbers not yet available).

At this time, the exact cause of the fire is unknown. At this time, NPS Rangers do not believe anyone was injured. The fire is still under investigation and updates will be sent when more information becomes available.

The Las Vegas Boat Harbor concession employees successfully contained the blaze with NPS Rangers and fire personnel.
