October 2008 exhibit at Coe Visitor Center

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on Sept. 29, 2008. It is reproduced in full below.

Homested, Florida - Oil Paintings of Florida Bay with a different view will be seen in an exhibition by William Vega at the Ernest Coe Visitors Center gallery, 40001 State Road 9336, Homestead, Florida, October 1 - 31, 2008, daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free.

The public is invited to a reception celebrating the exhibition and the artist on Saturday, October 4th, from 2 - 5 p.m.

William Vega has worked as a graphic correspondent for newspapers, magazines and the music industry. He is also a professional photographer.

His oil paintings have been in many group and solo exhibitions throughout the world. Many of his original oil paintings form part of private collections all over the world.

Recently, he has been working as an art professor at Art South in Homestead, Florida.

Vega says, "My paintings seek to reflect the surroundings in which I find myself, and to capture the most representative part of such. It is a plastic language describing landscapes, figures, or any other element which inspires me to paint. This is why the themes of my paintings have always been different because the geography is always evolving according to the country or place."

Vega’s art exhibit will be on display at the Ernest Coe Visitors Center gallery, 40001 State Road 9336, Homestead, Florida, October 1 - 30, 2008, daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free. Contact: 305-242-7700 for any additional information.
