Denali Subsistence Resource Commission Meeting Rescheduled for November

The Denali Subsistence Resource Commission meeting that was to take place on Friday, Oct. 17, 2008 in Denali National Park and Preserve has been rescheduled for Friday, Nov. 14, 2008. The public is invited to the meeting, which will be held from 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at the Murie Science and Learning Center, located at Mile 1.3 on the Denali Park Road.

The commission will consider a range of issues related to subsistence hunting and fishing in the 1980 additions to Denali National Park and Preserve. Agenda items for the meeting include updates on: the temporary closure of areas in the Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act (ANILCA) park additions in the Cantwell area to off-road vehicle (ORV) access by federally qualified subsistence users, the Federal subsistence management program, registration hunts in game management unit 16B, and upcoming subsistence research projects. Public testimony opportunities will be provided.
