Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area officials have completed the Environmental Assessment - Vista Management Plan: Big South Fork Scenic Railway and determined that the proposed project resulted in a determination of a finding of no significant impact (FONSI) per the National Environmental Policy Act. The Preferred Alternative, Alternative B, Selective Clearing with Exotic Species Removal, was chosen and will be implemented. National Park Service Southeast Regional Director, David Vela signed the FONSI on April 10, 2009.
