Join a geologist for an adventure to Cave of the Winds, Garden of the Gods, and Red Rock Open Space on Saturday, June 27 from 9am - 5pm. Discover an amazing underground world and learn the story of Colorado’s mysterious disappearing mountain range. Sponsored by the Friends of Florissant. Fee is $50. Teacher credit available. This field experience, designed for everyone, will explore the geology of Cave of the Winds, Garden of the Gods, and Red Rock Open Space. Entering an amazing world underground, we will discover the origins of different types of cave formations. At the Garden of the Gods Visitor Center we will watch the movie “How Did Those Red Rocks Get There?" Lunch will be provided at the “Café at the Garden." After lunch we will explore a magnificent red rock landscape. More information on this and other summer seminars is available at www.nps.gov/flfo.

Cave of the Winds, Garden of the Gods, and Red Rock Open Space can be reached via Highway 24.
