Beginning July 6, Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9:30-11:30 a.m. (Call the Sandy Hook Visitor Center for location or look for the “Seining Today" signs along Hartshorne Drive.)
Participate in this hands-on activity that explores the creatures in the bay. Please wear footwear you can get wet.

Sandy Hook Summer Beach Concerts. On the Beach at Area E, Wednesdays at 6 p.m. The Sandy Hook Foundation sponsors this annual FREE concert series. Learn about the 54th Volunteers and one-time Staten Islander Colonel Robert Gould Shaw. Shaw made history on July 18, 1863 inspiring monuments and the film “Glory" which was based on Shaw’s letter while he trained and lead the regiment. Reservations required.
“Hoop It Up" 5-on-5 Basketball Tournament

Saturdays, July 11, 18 & 25 at 10 a.m.
Boys and girls can ‘hoop it up’ with National Park Service rangers for a 5-on-5 single elimination basketball tournament. Prizes will be awarded. The deadline to sign up is June 27. The tournament is free.

Permits Information for Staten Island, GATE
Fishing and bird watching/nature study parking permits are available for the 2009 season at Miller Field,
Fort Wadsworth and Great Kills Park. Boat Launch Permits are only issued at Great Kills Park.
