LAKE MEAD AND LAKE MOHAVE FEE-FREE THIS WEEKEND
LAS VEGAS - This weekend is the second of three fee-free weekends at National Park Service units across the country. Lake Mead National Recreation Area will be waiving both entrance fees and lake use fees on July 18 and 19.
Park attractions are celebrating this fee-free weekend with specials and discounts.
On Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m at Callville Bay, Temple Bar, and Cottonwood Cove Marinas, Forever Resorts is offering free houseboat rides to vistors and a free eco-friendly shopping bag to retail shoppers. Lake Mead Cruises will be discounting selected beverages on the Desert Princess paddlewheel boat all weekend. Seven Crown Resorts is offering discounts on lodging and boat rentals at Echo Bay.
Boaters can come out to Las Vegas Boat Harbor's AquaPalooza 2009 for a free BBQ on the beach at Swallow Cove from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m on Saturday. Registration is required, call (702) 434-4405.
All 147 National Park Service sites that charge fees for entry will waive entrance fees July 18-19 and August 15-16.
