First Fort Tours on National Public Lands Day September 26th

First Fort Tours at Fort Union National Monument for National Public Lands Day

In honor of volunteers and volunteerism on National Public Lands Day, Fort Union National Monument, National Park Service will host two special public tours of the First Fort Union site (circa 1851-1861), Saturday September 26th. Scheduled times for the tours is 11:00am and 1:30pm. Visitors are urged to arrive at the visitor center at least 15 minutes before the start of each tour. Visitors should dress comfortably, wear sturdy walking shoes and be able to walk and stand on uneven dirt surfaces. Accommodations for handicap accessibility at this site is limited.

On this day, all national parks including Fort Union National Monument will waive entrance fees. This volunteer/outreach event is dedicated to all who enjoy and appreciate our countries special public lands.
