National Park Service Planning Workshops Continue, Next Focus is Volunteers in Parks

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on Oct. 7, 2009. It is reproduced in full below.

Phyllis Cremonini, Volunteer Program Coordinator from the Midwest Regional Office of the National Park Service, will speak about the history, guidelines and future of volunteers in the NPS. The evening will include a presentation followed by a question and answer period. No reservations are required.

This is the third in the series. The first workshop in the series was last July and focused on NPS compliance and planning. In August, the second workshop focused on guidance and procedures of interpretive planning, guidelines and polices. Following the volunteer session, the next in the series will be a one-day workshop on Nov. 21, 2009 on how the NPS works with partnerships including fundraising. Pre-registration will be required for that workshop.
