road resurfacing work at casa grande ruins rescheduled

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on Oct. 8, 2009. It is reproduced in full below.

The entrance road and parking lot resurfacing project has been rescheduled for Monday and Tuesday, October 19 and 20, 2009. Visitors to Casa Grande Ruins National Monument may experience brief delays on the entry road to the Monument. The road and parking area will be resurfaced and restriped during this period. Some work will require closing one lane and utilizing a pilot car or flaggers to direct vehicles in and out of the monument. Casa Grande Ruins Superintendent Karl Cordova stated: "This important road maintenance project should present only a slight inconvenience to our visitors. Delays for entry and exit during lane closures on the approximately 1 mile entry road will be minimal--at most, a 10 minute wait." All drivers are advised to observe posted speed limits and exercise caution for safety reason and to avoid asphalt spattering.
