Details: This seminar on archaeology will focus on a historical perspective to archaeology: its birth, growth and evolution, a look at the kinds of archaeology with samples of projects, modern archaeology at work: theory, method and interpretation, and the politics of archaeology: its future and virtual archaeology. Directions: To reach Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument, travel 35 miles west on Highway 24 from Colorado Springs. At the town of Florissant, turn left onto Teller County Road # 1 and travel 2 miles to the Visitor Center entrance.
