On Tuesday, September 7th, 2010, Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument will shift from its summer hours of operation to its winter hours which will be 9:00 AM -5:00 PM. These hours of operation will be in effect throughout the fall and winter months.
Ranger guided programs will still continue on a limited schedule and mostly on the weekends. Ranger guided elk bugling programs begin mid-September on weekends. Please call ahead for times and reservations. Other activities within the park include the junior ranger program, the park's film, self-guided trails with exhibits and 14 miles of hiking trails. Please contact the Monument at (719) 748-3253 for further information about hours and the schedule for programs.
