Hazard trees, along a one mile section of the Highway 7 corridor that passes through Rocky Mountain National Park, will be removed in October, weather permitting. Many of these trees were dead from a previous bark beetle infestation.
Park staff are partnering with Colorado Department of transportation (CDOT) for this project. The park's forestry crew will cut the trees and CDOT will remove the trees and manage traffic along the road. Temporary traffic delays will take place through this one mile section of road during the project. The work will not take place on weekends.
