GATEWAY ARCH OFFERS EXTENDED HOURS TO
ACCOMMODATE HOLIDAY VISITORS
Day After Thanksgiving Marks One of the Busiest Days of the Year at Arch andLaunches Holiday Season of Events at The Old Courthouse
What: While many people “shop ‘til they drop" at the mall the day after Thanksgiving, lots of people take the opportunity to visit the Gateway Arch at the Core of Discovery. In fact, Friday, Nov. 26, is expected to be one of the busiest days of the year for the nation’s tallest monument. Last year, more than 6,000 people visited the Gateway Arch.
To accommodate visitors, the Gateway Arch will offer extended hours on Friday and Saturday, November 26 and 27, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. To help avoid long lines and possible ticket sellouts, visitors are encouraged to purchase tram ride and/or movie tickets in advance at 877-982-1410 or via the Gateway Arch page on CoreofDiscovery.com. Gateway Arch Riverboat sightseeing cruises and helicopter rides are also available at the riverfront.Avoid the traffic and catch a ride on the Holiday Magic Train, sponsored by the St. Louis Convention & Visitors Commission. In addition, the National Park Service will kick off a holiday season of events at the Old Courthouse, which continues through January 8 and features historic holiday celebrations, music and activities in the rotunda. Visitors can also find unique holiday gifts at the shops at the Gateway Arch or Old Courthouse, which feature Gateway Arch holiday ornaments, gourmet foods, books and children’s toys.
