Holiday Visitor Center Hours Announced

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on Dec. 17, 2010. It is reproduced in full below.

The visitor centers at Theodore Roosevelt National Park and Knife River Indian Villages National Historic Site will be closed on December 24 and 25 and, January 1. Fort Union Trading Post National Historic Site will be closed in its entirety on those days. All facilities will reopen for regular business hours on December 26 and Jan. 2, respectively.

The North and South Units of Theodore Roosevelt National Park will still be open for visitors on the holidays and primitive camping is available. The grounds at Knife River Indian Villages will also be open on the holidays.

“This is a wonderful time for visitors to enjoy their national parks," said Theodore Roosevelt National Park Superintendent Valerie Naylor. “Winter provides beautiful scenery for photography and many good opportunities for wildlife viewing."
