Harkers Island, N.C. - Acting Superintendent Mike Tranel welcomes the public to join us on Sunday, April 17, at the Harkers Island Visitor Center of Cape Lookout National Seashore, as we celebrate Junior Ranger Day and National Park Week. Scouts, home-school groups and other organizations are asked to call ahead to help us plan for your group.

Experience the seashore through Ranger led programs and earn the limited edition Junior Ranger Day items such as patches, badges, and certificates as you learn about the plants, animals, and people who have weathered the storms of Cape Lookout.

Kite Flying, 10:00am - 11:00am

The ever present wind of Cape Lookout is a great place to enjoy flying kites. Bring a kite from home or create a new one here with us.

Bells and Whistles, 11:00am - 12:30pm

Get an inside look at the boats and vehicles used by Law Enforcement Rangers.

Ranger Tales, 12:30pm - 1:00pm

Listen to exciting stories about Park Rangers and dress up in various park employee uniforms.

Shells and Bones, 1:00pm - 2:00pm

Surf Rescue Drills, 2:00pm - 3:00pm
