Monocacy National Battlefield will join with Historic Consortium museum sites in the official opening of the spring season. Emphasis of the event will be on Frederick, Maryland's unique contributions to local and national history.
At Monocacy National Battlefield learn about the Victorian internet.The Baltimore and Ohio Railroad was an important transportation line that intersected the Georgetown Pike just south of Frederick City.Telegraph lines were constructed parallel to the railroad and were vital to communication in the mid-19th century.Join living history volunteers from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for hands-on demonstrations of how this communication device worked and learn how it compares to our modern internet.
