NATIONAL PARK WEEK FREE ENTRY STARTS SATURDAY

LAS VEGAS - You've probably heard that Lake Mead is rising, come out and see it for yourself. This Saturday marks the beginning of National Park Week and fee-free entry at all national parks. Entrance fees will be waived at Lake Mead National Recreation Area, which includes both Lake Mead and Lake Mohave. Special programs and hikes are scheduled throughout the week.

The National Park Service will be hosting Junior Ranger Day on Saturday, Apr. 23 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m at the Boulder Beach picnic area on Lake Mead. Meet Smoky Bear and park rangers, learn about area archaeology and enjoy easygoing ranger lead hikes. Kids and those who are kids at heart will be also be able to earn their Lake Mead junior ranger badge.

The Las Vegas Boat Harbor boat show starts today and goes through Sunday (visit http://www.boatinglakemead.com for more). Lake Mead Cruises is offering a 25 percent National Park Week discount on adult fares for all cruises (use offer code NPW at http://www.lakemeadcruises.com ).
