Cultural Demonstration Program at Petrified Forest June 2011

Petrified Forest, AZ- This summer, Petrified Forest National Park will be hosting a series of Cultural Demonstrators each Saturday. This program provides the opportunity for regional peoples to share their history and traditional arts and crafts in the dynamic setting of Petrified Forest. The demonstrators for June 2011 include:

June 4th Roxanne Burns-Zuni Beadworker

June 11th American Indian Market Day and the Winslow Harvey Girls

June 18th Kathleen Nelson-Navajo Weaver

June 25th Sidney Poolheco-Hopi Carver, Painter, and Singer

The demonstrators will be at the Painted Desert Inn National Historic Landmark between 9 am and 5 pm, 2 miles from the north entrance at Exit #311 off Interstate 40. The American Indian Market Day will take place at the Painted Desert Visitor Center just outside the north entrance (no fee for the market).
