Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve is considering construction of an open air structure to showcase a 46 foot rearticulated humpback whale skeleton in Bartlett Cove, Alaska. The exhibit would provide park visitors with information about humpback whales that visit the park's marine waters each summer as well as tell the story of this individual whale. The NPS has prepared an Environmental Assessment describing two alternatives and analyzing the environmental consequences of each.
The Environmental Assessment is now available for public review and comment. All comments must be received by close of business on July 22, 2011. The full document is available at the following link:
