Theodore Roosevelt Re-enactor to Perform on Labor Day

KEYSTONE, SD - Back by popular demand to Mount Rushmore National Memorial is Gib Young, the re-enactor for President Theodore Roosevelt. Young will be at Mount Rushmore on Labor Day, Monday, September 5, 2011.

On Monday, from 9:30 am - 4:30 pm, the 26th president will be providing programs in Theater B of the Lincoln Borglum Visitor Center, signing autographs and providing photo opportunities in the Lincoln Borglum Visitor center, and roving in and around the Grand View Terrace and the Avenue of Flags interacting with visitors.

Young, along with re-enactors for George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and Thomas Jefferson were all at the Memorial for the recent July 3 celebration.

Following is Young’s schedule, which is subject to change in the event of inclement weather:

9:30 am --10:30 am: Autographs in the Lincoln Borglum Visitor Center

10:45 am -- 11:30 am: Program in Theater B of the Lincoln Borglum Visitor Center

12:00 pm -- 12:45 pm: Roving the Grand View Terrace and the Avenue of Flags

1:45 pm --2:30 pm: Program in Theater B of the Lincoln Borglum Visitor Center

2:45 pm -- 3:30 pm: Autographs in the Lincoln Borglum Visitor Center

3:45 pm -- 4:30 pm: Roving the Grand View Terrace and the Avenue of Flags

The Labor Day celebration will conclude with the Evening Lighting Ceremony at 8:00 pm in the amphitheater.
