FLAGSTAFF, ARIZONA - The Flagstaff Area National Monuments and Western National Parks Association (WNPA) will host a CD signing event on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Walnut Canyon National Monument Visitor Center with the world's premier performer of Native American flute, R. Carlos Nakai.
R. Carlos Nakai is an Arizona Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame Inductee, a seven time Grammy Nominee, with two gold records and over 4 million albums sold!
WNPA is a non-profit cooperating association that supports interpretive activities at the Flagstaff Area Monuments. For more information about WNPA, please visit their website at www.wnpa.org.
Walnut Canyon National Monument is located 7.5 miles east of downtown Flagstaff via I-40 and can be reached at (928)526-3367 and on the web at www.nps.gov/waca (file://inpflagntsvr1/public/Cecilia/www.nps.gov/waca). Walnut Canyon is open daily, except December 25. Summer hours of operation are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Entrance fees are $5.00/person for visitors 16 years and over. America the Beautiful passes are honored and sold. Walnut Canyon has limited parking, please carpool and plan to arrive early.
